Train sets RIB and RIO have been designed for being operated with push-pull system, without having to move the locomotive. Train set can be composed of maximum nine coaches, one of which having driving cab, one end coach without driving cab and one or more mid coaches.
The RIO type train set was modernized as shown below:
- provided the train with a PLC system which enables the automatic functioning of heating, lighting, doors opening and intercommunication
- static converters for auxiliary services as batteries charging, air conditioned units (20 kW), heating resistances type SSVC (16,8 kW)
- integrated system of heating with a group of heating resistances (2x 9,9 kW)
- the battery charging parameters (temperature, charging current and voltage) can be monitored on a display mounted on each electric cabinet
- audio sound system
- passenger information screen
- interior video surveillance of wagons
- WIFI communication for passengers
- dual heating system using the air conditioning units and heating radiators mounted under passengers seats
- energy is supplied by static power supplies
- installation of plug boards (220 V ac) for personal computers of passengers
- ergonomic control desk for driver’s cab, displaying all the information regarding locomotive’s functioning parameters
- colored graphic display showing the traction and braking parameters, as well as the status of locomotive’s equipments
- mounting of ergonomic seats for passengers
